MEDIA OPPORTUNITY: Friday, 28 February with Cr Samantha McIntosh and Tim Bone at 12 noon, Ballarat Botanical Gardens.
There can never be too many cooks in the kitchen – especially if they happen to be MasterChefs!
Excitement is building and our tastebuds are tingling ahead of the Begonia Festival MasterChef day, one of the many highlights of this year’s program.
Ballarat’s own Tim Bone will receive some special deliveries in preparation for the triple MasterChef treat.
Tim will be joined on stage at this year’s festival by fellow contestant Anushka Zargaryan and former MasterChef winner and guest judge Poh Ling Yeow– with all three talented chefs ready to cook up a feast on Sunday, 8 March.
Tim’s commitment to using local, fresh produce showcases how Ballarat is embracing the components of ‘paddock to plate ‘and has resulted in a local collaboration with Ballarat businesses coming on board.
Wilsons Fruit and Vegetables will supply produce for the cooking segments, the Good Guys will help with cooking equipment and Inhabit Homewares will ensure the on-stage kitchen has the latest cooking utensils.
Cr Samantha McIntosh said the Begonia Festival was built on community support and would not be possible without the many partners and generous contributions from local businesses and suppliers.
This is a great way for local businesses to leverage off a big event and have their products on stage” she said.
Local business operators Trevor Wilson and Paige Fawcus said they were pleased to be supporting one of Ballarat’s largest and most successful festivals and to have their products being used by some of the top chefs in the country!
