Local design consultants are being invited to register their interest in the detailed design for the West Woolgoolga Sports Complex.
The Complex is to be sited on the western side of Solitary Islands Way nearly opposite Woolgoolga High School. It will include playing fields and the northern beaches multipurpose centre.
Prior to the release of a Principal Design Consultant (PDC) tender, Council is inviting Expressions of Interest (EOI) from suitably qualified and experienced local businesses to be included in a register of local consultants for the PDC tender documentation.
Council’s Group Leader City Prosperity Nikki Greenwood said: “I know the community will be excited to see the West Woolgoolga Sports Complex project moving towards the detailed design phase.
“Project managers APP are already on board to lead the project and it is now time to engage our Principal Design Consultant. That consultant will engage a range of design sub-consultants and many others to help design the project. And we’d love to see as many locals involved as possible.”
The services being sought for registration cover architecture, audio visual design, BCA consultancy, civil engineering, communications design, electrical design, fire design, hydraulic design, kitchen design, landscape design, mechanical design, security design, signage design and structural engineering.
The detailed design phase of the project is fully-funded by Council and is anticipated to be delivered by the end of 2020. This will provide a fully-designed and fully-costed project for the entire site including the civil engineering works, sports fields and related infrastructure and the Multi-purpose Centre.
“The construction of the West Woolgoolga Sports Complex is subject to the project being fully funded,” added Ms Greenwood. “The NSW Government and Council have already committed funds towards construction and Council will continue to apply for more funding so that building work can begin. Project construction will start once all the funding is in place.
“The Woolgoolga and Northern Beaches Community has campaigned for this project for many years and completing the detailed design as planned gets us one step closer.”
