Cooma residents will notice a slight change to their kerbside collection service with recycling and organics bins to be emptied in the afternoon of the scheduled collection day.

Snowy Monaro Regional Council’s Resource and Waste team have temporarily re-organised kerbside collections to ensure staff can comply with social distancing requirements while still providing this essential community service.

From Thursday 26 March, the sidearm collection vehicle that services the Cooma township will run across two shifts (morning and afternoon) to allow for one driver per collection vehicle.

The domestic waste bin (red lidded) will be emptied in the morning as normal, while the recycling (yellow lid) and/or organic (lime green lid) will be emptied in the afternoon.

Residents are asked to place their bins out the night before the scheduled collection day and to leave the recycling and/or organic bin out until later in the day.

Council apologises for any inconvenience and thanks to the community for their support through this time.
