From this Monday, 30 March 2020, Gympie Regional Council waste management facilities will no longer take cash.
“This is a natural progression as we continue to put measures in place to safeguard the community against COVID-19,” Gympie Regional Council CEO Bernard Smith said.
“While we understand it maybe a small inconvenience for some residents in the short term, ultimately it is about the health and safety of our staff and the wider community,” he said.
Gympie Regional Council’s waste management services will continue as normal but the Bonnick Road, Mary Valley and Tin Can Bay shops will close as of close of business on Sunday, 29 March.
