The Isaac Local Disaster Management Group (LDMG) moved to ‘Lean Forward’ on Tuesday 24 March, in support of Queensland Health as the lead agency managing the response to the novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
The Isaac LDMG proactively plans to reduce the impact of COVID-19 to our communities. The Isaac LDMG is chaired by Isaac Regional Council Mayor Anne Baker with broad input from key agencies.
Isaac LDGM consists of government agencies, emergency services, community and industry representatives working together, monitoring the situation and preparing a coordinated response.

The current status of ‘Lean Forward’ was triggered due to the likelihood the threat of the COVID-19 virus may affect our Local Government area. The next activation level is ‘Stand Up’.
As of Sunday 29 March, LDMG have not received increased levels of calls for assistance, in particular Queensland Health as the lead agency which would trigger a move to ‘Stand Up’.
The LDMG continues to actively monitor the situation, in constant communication with Queensland Health as the lead agency, undertake scenario mapping, in addition to forward and recovery planning to best reflect the needs of the Isaac Region and our fellow Australians.
To fight the spread of COVID-19 virus it is essential to keep up to date with the latest advice from Queensland Health and the Australian Government and strictly adhere to the advice from the authorities.
Council is committed to supporting Queensland Health as the lead health agency responsible for responding to COVID-19 and Australian Government advice regarding gatherings.
