Yass Valley Council has commenced discussions with Valmar Support Services for the transfer of Council’s community services.
In October 2019, Council determined to commence negotiations with alternate accredited service providers to take over the operation of its community services functions. In December 2019, three specialist service providers, all with an established local presence, were referred by Council to the State and Federal Governments as suitable organisations to undertake the transfer of community services in the Yass Valley.
The Department of Health (DoH) indicated that Valmar is the preferred provider. Valmar has grown to be a leading provider of services to people with disabilities, aged care and community transport for Yass Valley residents and surrounding Government areas.
Council is now working with Valmar to ensure the transfer of all services are as smooth and as seamless as possible for clients, staff and volunteers.
Users of Council’s Community services and the wider community will continue to be kept up to date with information as soon as it is available.
