Mareeba Shire Council is committed to the health and safety of the community and is following direction and advice from the Federal and State Governments to help slow the spread of coronavirus.
Council is balancing the importance of providing services to the community with protecting the safety of everyone. Council strongly assures the community that if everyone works together, the impact will be minimised. In line with the Government’s health advice, residents are strongly advised to stay at home and practise social distancing.
Council has plans in place to ensure essential services are not impacted.
All Shire libraries and public swimming pools will remain closed until further notice.
There is a range of library e-resources available online for residents to access including eBooks, eAudiobooks, eMagazines, movies and online tutorials. All of these can be accessed through Council’s website.
The Kuranda Visitor Information Centre will also remain closed until further notice.
If you need to contact Council, please do so by phone (1300 308 461) or email ([email protected]) as direct public access to the customer centres in Mareeba and Kuranda is now closed.
Council will continue to monitor this very active situation and follow advice from the State and Federal Governments to help slow the spread of this virus.
