It’s not too late! Lithgow City Council is still calling for young people aged 12-24 to join its Youth Advisory Committee (Youth Council) with nominations extended until March 15!

Youth Council organises events throughout the year, discusses ideas to improve the lives of young people in the Lithgow LGA and consults with the wider community on ways that Council can implement these ideas. Young people of high school age are encouraged to get involved.

“We want to hear from the youth in our community,” says Deputy Mayor Steve Ring, “The Youth Council is one of the ways we can consult with the community. It’s important for the future of our town that young ones are involved and we value the contribution that our youth make to the community”.

If you have ideas about ways that the community can better meet the needs of young people, if you want to make a difference to the lives of young people in the LGA and if you’d like to learn about how Lithgow City Council works and the role that you can play, then please get in touch and find out more about joining the Youth Council.

Youth Council meets once a month throughout the year as well as organising events, activities and workshops for young people in the community. Previous Youth Councils have organised fun days for youth week, movie nights for the community and hosted youth forums for young residents of the LGA.
