In the next six months, there will be a series of road, pathway and parking upgrades taking place throughout the Shire.
Council approved the following projects at its Ordinary February Council meeting:
Leisure Drive, Kingston, Proposed Angle Parking – Leisure Drive in Kingston provides a traffic link between Paris Road and Kingston Drive and provides access to the Leschenault Leisure Centre and a number of residential properties. A tender will be advertised for the proposed 90-degree angle parking at an estimated to cost $200,000 in the coming weeks. View the proposed parking plan
Piggott Drive Treendale – Proposed Path – Piggott Drive extends approximately 450m north from Ditchingham Drive and currently provides the only access to an industrial area of approximately 30 properties, 10 of which adjoin Piggott Drive. Council had allocated funds in the 2019-2020 Budget to construct a path on Clifton Road, Brunswick between George Avenue and Wellesley Road, however, after a detailed assessment of the site, further development is needed to construct a pathway at that location. Council approved the reallocation of $60,000 to fund the construction of a new path on Piggott Drive, Treendale instead of Brunswick. Officers will develop a feasible design solution for the Brunswick pathway.
Constellation Drive, Treendale, Proposed Traffic Safety Improvement between Grand Entrance and The Boulevard – Constellation Drive in Treendale provides a traffic link between Grand Entrance and The Boulevard including access to a number of residential properties, several commercial premises and the Treendale Shopping Centre car parking area. Council endorsed the proposed Traffic Management improvements along Constellation Drive. All property owners along Constellation Drive will be consulted regarding the proposal.
