Lachlan Shire Council would like to thank everyone who entered our photography competition which ended on February 14.
Council received nearly eighty entries, with photographs covering a wide range of subjects within each category.
The winning photos will be displayed in our new promotional ‘Heart of NSW’ brochure.
The brochure will promote the Lachlan region to our visitors and let them know what we, as a small diverse community, are able to offer as an authentic bush experience.
Council’s Tourism and Economic Development Officer Debra Keane, who organised the competition, thanked the judges for taking part.
“It was great to have representation from all regions of our Shire,” she said.
“And congratulations to all of our winners. Many of the photos from the competition will feature in our publicity and tourism material. Thank you to all of the photographers that have made the effort to enter the competition. It was a tight competition and there were a lot of very good photographs that just missed out.”
The competition categories were, Animals and People, Native Wildlife, Typical Farmscapes and People at Play.
Judging the competition were local artist Karen Tooth, Western Plains Regional Development Executive Officer Jess Loftus, Lachlan Shire Mayor Medcalf OAM, along with Deputy Mayor Paul Phillips and Councillor Mark Hall.
