It’s time again for the Tottenham Picnic Races and this year’s event is being held on Saturday March 7.
Lachlan Shire Council has been busy preparing for this year’s races, with a fantastic new shed, concrete slab, cool room and lighting all completed.
The six-race program commences at 2pm with the featured race being the Robinson Grain Tottenham Picnic Cup. Prize money on the day totals $24,000 with trophies also to be presented.
There will be a free luncheon from 12-1.30pm, followed by a BBQ cooked by the local Lions Club. The ladies from the CWA will be providing cool drinks and afternoon tea. A full bar will also be operational on the day to enable those who enjoy a tipple to buy a drink or two.
Other activities include the best-dressed competition with prize categories being Junior Boy and Junior Girl, Ladies 16-30, Ladies 30-plus and Gents – all of which are self-nominated.
The children will also be taken care of with free entertainment including two jumping castles and a face painter to keep them busy.
Entertainment in the evening will be provided by popular rock band Ballz‘n’All.
A courtesy bus will run from the Tottenham Hotel every half hour between 11.30-2, with return trips after the races.
