International Women’s Day will be celebrated in the Snowy Monaro with women coming together on Tuesday 17 March to reflect, relax, and recuperate after a challenging start to the year.

Snowy Monaro Regional Council has partnered with the Delegate Progress Association (DPA) and the NSW Government to host an entertaining day featuring guest speakers, information stalls, health and wellbeing activities, and the presentation of the DPA’s International Women’s Day awards.

The day will have a subtle focus on disaster recovery as the community takes stock of the impact of the bush fire season and acknowledges the incredible efforts made by a wide range of community members.

The celebrations will start at 10.30am at the School of Arts Hall in Delegate and continue through to 2:30pm. Tickets are $10 which includes morning tea, lunch and sweets, and can be booked at the Platypus Country Visitor Information Centre in Bombala, Delegate RTC, and Old Delegate Post Office.

Nominations are open for the Delegate Progress Association International Women’s Day awards, with locals encouraged to put names forward for the following categories: Business Woman of the Year, Community Member/Volunteer of the Year, Employee of the Year, and Young Woman of the Year (25 years and under).

Nomination forms can be picked up from the Platypus Country Visitor Information Centre, Delegate RTC Centre, the Old Delegate Post Office, and on Council’s website, link below.

Email your nominations to [email protected], or drop them back to any collection point before 5pm Friday 13 March.
