New online grants hub opens a new door to potential funding for the Bega Valley Shire

Bega Valley Shire Council is the 50th Council in Australia to sign-up to a new one-stop-shop for grant funding to help local business, community groups and Council access a pool of $37.8 billion in funding opportunities nationwide.

The Bega Valley Funding Finder provides a searchable register of more than 950 grants available from local, state and federal government as well as corporate and philanthropic programs, including disaster relief funding. Council's own grants are registered in the hub too.

Bega Valley Shire Council Director of Community, Environment & Planning, Alice Howe said the new hub is bound to become a vital tool for Council and our community, seeking funding for projects that bring direct benefit to the local community.

"The Bega Valley Funding Finder will help open new doors to funding projects; doors that community groups and businesses quite possibly couldn't see before,” she said.

"Council is committed to promoting economic growth and recovery across the Shire and providing access to the Funding Finder is one small way we can support local business and the community move forward.”

The hub presents funding opportunities for businesses, sole traders such as artists, small start-ups, not-for-profit community groups, sporting clubs, and larger agricultural and manufacturing businesses.

Those using the tool can access a library of useful resources to help write successful applications, and sign up to new funding alerts helping businesses and community groups plan and prepare their own grant applications.

Those needing a higher level of support can connect with a network of professional grant writers through the hub or attend one of the grant writing workshops Council will be hosting this year.

Now that Council has subscribed to the service, there is no additional cost for the community or business to use the service.

The hub is accessible from Council's website www.begavalley.nsw.gov.au/grants
