Council staff will be available in Timboon this week to hear residents’ concerns and ideas for the town and Council services.
Mayor Neil Trotter invited members of the community to come down to the green and discuss local issues.
“Council is here to work for the people of the Shire, and we use every tool at our disposal to connect with our communities and find out what they want,” Cr Trotter said.
“That ranges from direct mail to radio and newspaper advertising, social media and drop-in sessions.
“We’re heading down to make that more personal connection and ensure it’s a two-way conversation.”
Cr Trotter encouraged people to come along and share what Council services worked well, and what could use improvement.
The Council marquee will be set up on the green, in front to the Little Bit of Sweet and the Heytesbury District Landcare Network office on Thursday from 10 am – 1pm and Friday from 1 pm – 5 pm.
“This will also be an opportunity to time to talk about the ‘Positioning Simpson and Timboon for the Future’ Issues and Opportunities Paper, but there are separate drop-in sessions specifically for that subject,” Cr Trotter said.
The ‘Positioning Simpson and Timboon for the Future’ drop-in sessions will be between 2:30 pm and 7:30 pm at the Simpson Bowls Club on Thursday Timboon Senior Citizens Centre on Friday.
Cr Trotter also reminded residents they could contact their local councillor to discuss any issues. Their contact details can be found here and are published every quarter in the Corangamite Shire News.
