Council is committed to keeping our community informed in relation to water discolouration in Clermont as new information becomes available.
The Clermont Water Treatment Plant is producing clear water. Council has reduced the amount of water in reservoirs and will begin filling with clear water tonight (Wednesday 4 March 2020). Residents should see a significant improvement in discolouration at this time, however, divers will continue to clean and vacuum reservoirs over the next three days and unfortunately, this can stir up the water supply and flow through the network.
Flushing of the mains will therefore not commence until Thursday 5 March 2020 and there may be isolated pockets of discolouration until the divers complete these works and mains flushing is finished. This is expected to be completed Friday 6 March 2020.
A bulk water tanker will be stationed at Hoods Lagoon for residents to access water for general purposes from:
12pm to 7pm, Wednesday 4 March; and 8am to 3.30pm, Thursday 5 March
Council will continue to review the need for this service as required.
Free bottled water for drinking purposes is available during business hours from the Clermont Council Office, corner Karmoo and Daintree Street, Clermont.
Council continues to provide free laundry additives (Citric Acid) available at the Council Office. Please follow the instructions on the fact sheet supplied.
If you have any discolouration of water or are unable to access the Council offices during business hours for laundry additives or free bottled water, contact our Customer Services Centre. Council’s Customer Service Centre is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week on 1300 ISAACS (1300 472 227).
Council wishes to thank the public and the Clermont community for their patience.
