Frankston City set for record fun

Saturday 21 March will see a real treat for Frankston City shoppers, with a vinyl record market popping up in the newly redeveloped Station Street Mall.

This exciting new event is presented as part of Council’s Place Activation Program, which aims to activate areas within the city centre, to encourage more people to venture in and explore what the city has to offer.

Frankston City Mayor, Sandra Mayer, said the market was a wonderful opportunity for shoppers to find some vintage vinyl gems, sell their old records, or have their favourites appraised by professionals from the Melbourne Record Club.

“The only thing that even comes close to live music is hearing it on vinyl,” said the Mayor.

“Whether you are looking to buy, or if you just want to have a flick through the records for a trip down memory lane, I would encourage you to come on down, have a rummage and listen to some great music. You never know — you might find that elusive album you’ve been searching for”.

There'll be something for everyone with genres including, Soul, Funk, Rock, Pop, Metal, Disco, R&B, Alternative and heaps more. 

This family-friendly, outdoor event begins at 10am and includes two acoustic sets from Davey Lane (You Am I, Todd Rundgren) and Brett Wolfenden (ex-Wolfmother, Todd Rundgren) performing songs written by Davey Lane along with some favourites of their own.
