If you have a pre-schooler in Corangamite Shire, we want to hear from you.
Sport And Recreation Trainee Dean Finlayson said the Ed Gym program is an active and structured gymnastics based program for pre-school aged children which promotes a range of learning opportunities in a friendly and safe environment.
“Council is undertaking a survey to determine if our Ed Gym programs are meeting the needs and expectations of the parents and children who use the service,” Mr Finlayson said.
Ed Gym is a playful way to make health and fitness fun for the children as they test their limits and independence.
“They can develop their physical co-ordination, problem-solving and social skills with the security of having their parents only arm’s length away,” Mr Finlayson said.
“Fostering children’s love of physical activity at a young age can have health benefits that last throughout their lives.
“In addition, the social skills they learn mixing with other kids sets them up for making friends in their school years and beyond.”
Mr Finlayson said the survey will determine the sustainability of conducting the Ed Gym Program.
“To ensure the program is meeting the expectations of the community, Corangamite Shire would like to hear your feedback on the program and what we could offer other families that would inspire them to come along,” he said.
“We invite parents to fill in the survey and let us know what they would like to
“All responses will be treated confidentially, and no names are required.”
Ed Gym offers two one-hour classes in Camperdown each Wednesday and one in Terang each Thursday during school terms, and once a term in Skipton.
