The region’s premier showcase event Big Skies Festival is shaping up to be bigger and better than ever before, with the Festival’s pinnacle live concert this year spanning over two massive days.
Western Downs Regional Council Chief Executive Officer Ross Musgrove said Big Skies would deliver jam-packed entertainment and experiences from 29 April to 3 May, with the two-day Big Skies Concerts a major highlight.
“Big Skies Festival is shaping up to be our biggest celebration yet, with an exciting line-up of Australian music royalty performing over two days on Saturday 2 May and Sunday 3 May,” Mr Musgrove said.
“We’re delivering double the dose of Aussie music talent, with Daryl Braithwaite, Choirboys, Killing Heidi, Kasey Chambers, Dragon, and The Radiators taking to the stage across the two evenings at the iconic Jimbour Station.
“On top of high-energy performances from a stellar true-blue line-up, the Concerts will also feature an open-air bar, and an assortment of local and regional food vendors”
Saturday’s program of events will extend past the on-stage performances, with the Late Show giving punters a chance to party on at the Jimbour Station Camp Kitchen, with a cash bar, DJ and late-night feast on offer. Sunday night will end with a spectacular fireworks finale.
Mr Musgrove said Big Skies offered far more than a chance to kick up your heels, with regional tours, culinary events, and unique country experiences offering a chance to experience the best of the west.
“Our region is bursting with rich, diverse experiences that celebrate what it means to be a part of the Western Downs community,” he said.
“Big Skies offers a chance to showcase our lifestyle with a series of tours on offer throughout the festival featuring our agricultural and energy sectors, as well as events celebrating local produce.
“This is just one example of our region’s growing reputation as a major events destination in Queensland, and I encourage everyone to take advantage of everything Big Skies has to offer.”
