Council is committed to keeping our community informed in relation to water discolouration in Clermont as new information becomes available.

The Clermont Water Treatment Plant continues to produce clear water. As flushing of the water network continues residents should continue to see a significant improvement in water clarity.

Divers have completed cleaning of sludge at the clearwater reservoir attached to the Water Treatment Plant.

The divers have now moved to the Jefferies Street reservoir to assess the condition. Access to the reservoir, inspections and cleaning activities may continue to cause minor discolouration should any sediment be disturbed.

Flushing of the reticulation network has continued so as to not exhaust water supplies as divers completed the cleaning process in the reservoir tank.

Isaac Regional Council Chief Executive Officer, in consultation with the Mayor, advises at the Ordinary Meeting Scheduled for 17 March 2020 at Moranbah Council Chambers, Batchelor Parade, Councillors will receive a report with a recommendation to apply a remission of water usage charges for the locality of Clermont for the period of the discoloured water event in accordance with Council’s Utility Charge Remission – Extraordinary Circumstances Policy (WW-POL-053).

The extensive water samples taken across the network Wednesday, 4 March have been tested in a NATA accredited laboratory which has provided preliminary results and confirmed that all samples comply with the Australian Drinking Water Quality Guideline requirements for disinfection (E. Coli and Total Coliform).
