Local emerging artists, photographers, film makers, writers, creative thinkers and innovators are encouraged to apply for Shire scholarships to attend the 2020 Emergence Creative Festival.
Scheduled to be held between 25-27 March 2020 in the Margaret River Region, the festival brings together creatives from a wide range of areas encouraging participants to look beyond their own specialisation and broaden their thinking.
The scholarship winners will be entitled to participate in all sessions and workshops which cover topics such as communications, film, photography, digital space, music, innovative design and technology.
Shire Director of Corporate and Community Services, James Shepherd said the Shire would be offering two scholarships to local creatives to help them pursue their passions and kick-start their careers.
“There is some fantastic local talent in this region and we want to provide these community members with upskilling and networking opportunities,” he said.
“There is no minimum level of competence required to apply - we would really like to see these scholarships go to people who will embrace this learning opportunity and have fun with it.
“Each application will be considered on its own merit.”
Anyone interested in applying for the scholarship need to send a completed application form, with a video or blurb of why they want to attend and three work samples, to [email protected] by 5pm Monday 16 March 2020.
Photos of artworks are acceptable.
Winners should be available to attend the Emergence Creative Festival scheduled to be held between 21-24 March 2018 in the Margaret River Region.
The winner will be notified by 5pm Friday 20 March 2020.
The scholarship is non-transferable and does not covering ticketing to the networking events.
