Adopting a sustainable lifestyle not only will help save the environment but can also help save you money. Wollondilly Council has partnered with the Natural Strategies Group to launch the Sustainable Living Guide. The Guide provides a wealth of tips and actions that can be implemented around the home, at work and within the community to reduce the everyday use of the earth’s resources. Wollondilly Mayor Matthew Deeth said, “Sustainability is all about meeting the needs of the present, without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.” “Little things you do in your daily life will contribute to the collective change that our community can make.” The Sustainable Living Guide shows that simple actions such as composting your food scraps, water wise gardening, passing on unwanted items to local op shops, purchasing second-hand goods, cultivating energy and water saving habits can make all the difference. Creating a sustainable life and society involves recognising and embracing those qualities that give life meaning as well as being prepared to shed old habits that are unsustainable. Wollondilly Council also offers a range of free courses to help people on their journey. For more information about our courses go to our Sustainable Wollondilly page.
