Wanneroo Council has voiced its support for a review into plans for community facilities in the Northern Coastal Growth Corridor (NCGC), and is inviting residents and ratepayers to have their say.

Last night, Council endorsed a draft review of the NCGC Community Facilities Plan, which was first adopted in 2012.

A community consultation period will now take place between Monday 30 March 2020 and Sunday 26 April 2020.

Wanneroo Mayor Tracey Roberts said a review and update of the Plan will ensure that the City and developers in the NCGC continue to make informed decisions on the provision of facilities in its northernmost suburbs, and invited residents to have their say on the specifics of the plan.

“A key focus of future investment is to meet the needs of residents in the coming years and decades,” Mayor Roberts said.

“This plan takes a holistic view of key local facilities, including everything from community centres and libraries to multipurpose sports centres and public open spaces.

“We look forward to receiving feedback from local residents on how this plan can meet their needs and wishes for the future of where they live.

“To help us shape the future of our growing northern corridor, I would encourage local residents and ratepayers to take a look at the draft plan and have their say.”

Outcomes of the consultation will be reported to Council at its meeting on 30 June 2020. Copies of the draft NCGC Community Facilities Plan Review will be available on the City of Wanneroo’s Your Say hub from Monday 30 March.
