Council will merge two of its grant funding streams in order to provide a more simplified process and improve benefits to the community.
The Local Community Event Grant and the Community Services Grant will be combined under one funding stream, the Community Events, Activities and Projects Grant.
Currently, the two streams deliver funding to many similar community organisations through nine separate funding opportunities annually, each with different application forms, assessment criteria and amounts and types of assistance available.
Combining the two grant streams and providing four opportunities annually for applications of up to $15,000 (cash and/or in-kind assistance), aims to simplify the grant process for community groups.
There will also be changes to applicant eligibility, with the grants only accessible to not-for-profit organisations.
The changes come following a review last year, which identified the need to deliver a more simplified and consolidated community grant process.
The new grants will be available from 1July 2020 and advertised through Councils website and directly to Go Clubs members.
