Church Street village upgrades

Council has made the decision to postpone the streetscape works that were scheduled to commence on Monday 16 March 2020 in the interest of reducing any further major impact on local businesses as the Coronavirus (COVID-19) situation continues to unfold.

We are now prioritising efforts to ensure we can find an appropriate time to deliver the works we had scheduled for Church Street, between New St and St Andrews Street. Once we have reassessed the construction program we will shortly update you on the timings and the impact to be undertaken in the activity centre.

We are continuing to progress with the road resurfacing works and installation of the car parking sensor pods as planned between St Andrews Street to Middle Brighton railway line.

A later update will be provided with the road resurfacing works, including timeframes and expected disruptions. Night works will take place to replace the asphalt road surface and during construction, the road will be closed but local access will be available.

We will keep you updated once we have re-assessed the next steps.
