Lake Lyell is currently experiencing high levels of blue green algae, and a Red Alert has been issued by the NSW Office of Water.

With the presence of blue green algae in the water, Lake Lyell is not suitable for any activities that involve direct contact with the water by humans or animals.

Sampling of the Lake will continue and an updated alert status will be reported when information becomes available.
