Applications are now open for Eurobodalla’s Disaster Relief Fund.
Payments up to $1,000 per household are available to those whose primary place of residence was significantly impacted by the recent bushfires and who are facing financial hardship.
Eurobodalla Council established the fund last month to give community members an opportunity to donate directly to local people affected by the fires.
Since then, generous donations have seen this fund grow to around $100,000, which will be distributed directly to those who need it most.
Recipients will be encouraged to spend their payment in the Eurobodalla so that donations also assist local businesses.
Phase 1 is focused on people who experienced the loss of their home. This includes renters and owners, who can apply by completing the application form and returning it by Thursday 30 April at 5pm.
A panel has been established to assess eligibility and fund distribution, and will continue to oversee the management of the fund as donations continue to be received.
