Nogoa River timber pedestrian bridge closure

Posted on March 13, 2020

The Nogoa River timber pedestrian bridge in the Emerald Botanic Gardens will be permanently closed from Monday 16 March 2020.

Following a recent inspection of the bridge by the Central Highlands Regional Council and the Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR), it was determined that the pedestrian bridge is to be closed due to its structural condition.

All pedestrian access will be detoured through the botanical gardens via John Gay Bridge to cross the Nogoa River.

Council has consulted with the Emerald parkrun to change its course while the crossing is closed.
