Council wishes to advise residents of the temporary closure of the Emora Park playground, as a result of safety concerns.
Through a routine inspection of Council’s playgrounds and open space assets, Council has been made aware of some defects in the recently installed playground equipment at Emora Park, off Landa Street, Lithgow.
It was previously advised that in the case of Emora Park, it was expected that repairs will be undertaken and access restored to the facility by 13 March. Conversations with relevant suppliers have found that repairs may be undertaken by warranty. Unfortunately this has extended the closure of the facility.
While this closure is required to ensure the equipment is able to safely serve the needs of the community, Council unfortunately cannot provide a re-opening date at this time. However, staff are working quickly to resolve the matter. Once further information is in hand, the community will be updated on progress.
Council advises all residents to abide by any playground closures, for their own safety, and apologizes for any inconvenience caused as a result of the ongoing temporary closure.
