Council is suspending all swimming lessons and group fitness sessions from the end of Wednesday 18 March.
This decision has been made as these programs require direct contact between people. At this time, people are being encouraged to follow social distancing advice in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Children services, the pool hall, and gym will remain open; however, this may change at short notice based on the evolving advice on COVID-19.
Aquadome closedCouncil closed the Lakes Entrance Aquadome on 17 March as a proactive measure in response to potential exposure to COVID-19 (Coronavirus)
This precautionary measure is in place after a staff member presented with flu-like symptoms and has been placed in self-isolation.
The facility will remain closed for at least the next 13 days.
Council is supporting the staff member and the broader Aquadome team.
Council has a team of well qualified staff working on a calm and measured response to the Coronavirus and supporting the community.
We have well developed plans and our response to the Aquadome closure is a quick response to rapidly evolving pandemic.
There is no requirement to close any other Council facilities, however we are prepared to respond quickly if that situation changes.
Due to the rapidly evolving and changing environment, our business operations may change at any time. We will update the community through our various channels with any new information about Council services.
We remind residents and visitors to adhere to Department of Health and Human Services and the Chief Health Officer information and restrictions, including around personal hygiene practices and social distancing.
Lakes Entrance Aquadome memberships will be suspended for the length of the facility closure. If you have any enquiries please call 5153 9500.
