Mobile tower construction 18 Mar 2020 12:13 PM -

Lachlan Shire Council advises community members that a 33-metre mobile phone tower is currently being constructed at the Lake Cargelligo Recreation Ground by Optus.

The tower will incorporate the sports field lighting which will be attached to the new pole.

Council is pleased to facilitate the improvement of communications in the Shire and the tower is a welcome development for Lake Cargelligo which will benefit both local mobile phone users and tourists who visit the town.

There will be minor disruptions to the users of the facility while the pole is being installed and the trenching takes place. The contractor has assured Council they will minimise these disruptions as much as practicable.

The original Development Application proposal and community consultation was commenced by the mobile provider in November 2017 with Council approving the application in July 2018.

After some delay, construction finally commenced this month.

The contractor will restore any damage and disturbance caused by the construction works before they leave.
