Council Buildings and FacilitiesThe World Health Organization has announced that COVID-19 is a pandemic. The situation is changing rapidly. West Tamar Council is being proactive to ensure the safety and well-being of our visitors, staff, volunteers and the community. By starting the implementation of a Council wide response to the COVID-19 threat immediately, we can do so in a progressive and orderly manner.
West Tamar Council have implemented: Stage 1 COVID-19 Recommendations: effective Thursday 19 March 2020.
What does this mean for you?
Clubrooms:
May be used to manage the administration of the club; Council will not be undertaking any cleaning of clubrooms or amenities; and No club social events, private functions or meetings are to be undertaken.Sporting Grounds:
There will be a limited maintenance regime; and Sporting ovals will not be maintained for training or competition.Windsor Community Precinct Indoor Training Centre:
Will be closed until further notice.West Tamar Council meeting rooms and function centres:
Will be closed until further notice.If your members decide to continue using Council facilities, they will do so at their own risk, and we encourage everyone to protect themselves as per the advice from the Tasmanian Department of Health which can be found here.
Whilst we understand that this can have a dramatic effect on the mental health and wellbeing of our community members, we are taking the threat of COVID-19 very seriously as we endeavor to do everything we possibly can to reduce the spread of the virus. There will be further stages rolled out as required.
We appreciate this is a difficult time but we genuinely have the best interests of our staff, volunteers and the community, at the forefront of minds in taking this action.
