City of Parramatta Council will be temporarily closing a number of its facilities due to the evolving COVID-19 pandemic.

The following facilities will close from Tuesday 24 March until further notice:

Parramatta Farmers Markets & Centenary Square

Centenary Square will still be open to the public. However, the weekly Parramatta Farmers Markets as well as weekday programs and activities such as music performances, table tennis and food trucks, have been suspended. Tables, chairs and children’s play equipment will not be available.

Customer Contact Centre & Corporate Reception

The Service Centre and Level 12 Corporate Reception, both at 126 Church Street in Parramatta, will be closed. Services will still be available online at cityofparramatta.nsw.gov.au/council/customer-contact-centre or by calling 1300 617 058.

Parramatta Heritage and Visitor Centre

The Heritage and Visitor Centre will be temporarily closed to the public and tourism programs will be temporarily suspended. However, visitor and research services will be available online. Parramatta and Rydalmere Artists’ Studios

The studios will be closed to the public, but available to artists according to a strict roster.

Adjustments have been made to a number of other services, facilities and activities:

Riverside Theatres

Riverside Theatres closed at midday on Monday 23 March, but the Box Office can still be reached on 02 8839 3399 or via email at [email protected] during business hours.

Outdoor Activities

Lake Parramatta designated swimming area now closed Bushcare Group meetings and activities postponed until May School Holiday Program and Active Parramatta Program suspended

The following services, facilities and activities are operating as normal:

Parks and reserves Early Learning Centres Civil works program and maintenance  Waste collection and cleansing Meals on Wheels Individual support to NDIS and Social Inclusion clients continues, but via phone

Closures and changes have been made for the safety of the community and staff, and in line with advice provided by the State and Federal Governments.

Council is continuing to monitor the situation and is making necessary changes as required. We are also providing regular updates through social media and our website.
