It is the intent of Council to take appropriate precautions in a reasonable manner to ensure that the potential and actual risks relating to the transmission of the COVID-19 virus are managed effectively, efficiently and transparently.
At this time, Council is undertaking a series of Event Risk Evaluations for all events hosted at the Dysart Recreation Centre in accordance with Federal Government Guidelines. The evaluations are undertaken to determine the level of capacity to manage the identified risks and to remain compliant with Government guidelines and in particular; social distancing and sanitisation.
Current programs and events hosted at the Greg Cruikshank Aquatic Centre that are the subject of current evaluations include:
General Operations Learn to Swim Squad Swimmers Lap SwimmersIt has been determined that general operations of the Greg Cruickshank Aquatic Centre present sufficient risk to participants to impose an indefinite suspension taking effect at the close of business on Monday 23 March 2020. Please note that the indoor pool area will be closed from 12 midday. Council recognises that these steps are unfortunate and may cause some level of inconvenience, however, the decision to suspend these events indefinitely has not been taken lightly and is implemented in accordance with current Federal and State Guidelines and in the interests of the health and well-being of our residents.
