The Kiah community and Council have agreed that a temporary pavilion and barbecue area be erected near the tennis courts, while the Kiah Hall is being rebuilt.

After the Rotary Club of Merimbula approached Council to assist in the pavilion’s development, the location decision was made at a recent meeting between Council, Rotary, the Kiah Hall Committee and some Kiah community members.

“Community halls are much loved and used centres for people living in the rural areas of Bega Valley,” Manager of Property and Project Services, Daniel Djikic said.

“As the central point in any community, these halls enjoy a rich cultural life that takes in a range of artistic, social, sporting and educational interests.”

Rotary is also helping the Wandella community repair their undercover barbecue area and external toilet facilities. This project is due to commence 31 March 2020, pending health and wellbeing advice.
