Changes to service delivery in response to Coronavirus directives

The Shire of Collie has closed Roche Park Recreation Centre and the Collie Public Library until further notice following the advice of Federal and State Government.

Other shire services including waste collection, transfer station, administration, ranger services, works and parks and gardens and the Collie Mineworkers Memorial Swimming Pool will remain open with increased hygiene and social distancing measures.

Affected employees have been directed to work from home where possible or will be redeployed to support other parts of the organisation.

The Shire will also engage with community groups and relevant agencies to support the needs of the Collie community.

“Collie has faced many challenges in its history. Keeping our strong sense of community spirit will be ever more important in these unprecedented and challenging times,” Shire President Sarah Stanley said.

“I encourage everyone to look after your neighbours, particularly if they are elderly or have special needs, but remember to practice good hygiene and social distancing,” she added.

“We know these next few months will be extremely challenging for business across all sectors and I encourage you to support your local businesses whenever possible during this difficult time.”
