Wyndham City has developed a new platform to help keep residents connected and support their health and wellbeing during this lockdown period.
Wyndham City Mayor Cr Josh Gilligan said social distancing was a term used to physically distance ourselves from others to slow down the spread of COVID-19, but now more than ever we need social connectedness.
“There are many ways we can still connect and share online as a community, including through Council’s new website, Wyndham Together,” Cr Gilligan said.
“While we are in this stage of the pandemic, we can’t meet at the usual places, but there are many ways we can continue to unite locally.”
“Wyndham Together will feature videos, articles, classes, and tips on what we can do to keep socially connected, while keeping apart physically.”
“We broadcasted a video tour of our REVEAL exhibition online last week and we hope to continue bringing you events to your own home, seeing as we can’t meet at our regular venues for now.”
“The exhibition was expected to draw 150 to the opening, so we were delighted to see 10,000 people viewed the opening online, which shows that our residents are interested in watching our exhibitions online.”
“The education section of this new website will also show you how to access Wyndham’s libraries online with free access to e-books, e-magazines, e-audio books, movies and TV shows.”
“This site is not just about Council-related material. We are keen to involve the entire community in our new platform, sharing uplifting videos and online events from our business community or local interest groups.”
“We will add new content daily, as we bring together classes, videos, and articles from across the community.”
“This is a great opportunity to show our vibrant Wyndham spirit, so we encourage everyone to build each other up and stay connected through this website.”
