Mosquito fogging works are complete

Council wishes to advise residents that mosquito fogging carried out across the region is now complete.
Contractor Can Do Pest Control conducted the fogging in March following increased numbers of mosquitoes due to high levels of rainfall.
Fogging involves the dispersal of a chemical called Twilight ULV Mosquito Adulticide Concentrate through a thermal fogger. The amount of insecticide in the fog is very small and it is dispersed at quantities that can only kill something as small as a mosquito – meaning it poses no risk to people.
Fogging did not take place in Blackwater as trapping data revealed very low numbers.
However, Blackwater residents, and residents across the region, are encouraged to still take the necessary measures to avoid the mozzie bite and prevent mosquitoes breeding around their home.
Easy measures to implement at home include carrying out regular checks to ensure that there are no containers around your house holding water.
This includes:
