Barossa response - COVID-19 - 6 April Update

The Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic is a constantly evolving situation and we will continue to keep the community updated in regards to its impact locally. Regular updates can be found on our facebook page

For specific information relating to confirmed COVID19 cases in the Barossa, local agencies have created a dedicated facebook page BarossaInformationUpdate  and SA Health have information specific to the identified cluster of cases within the Barossa on their website, including the following advice:

"There are 34 confirmed cases linked to areas within the Barossa region including Tanunda, Nuriootpa, Williamstown, Angaston and Lyndoch.

Anyone in these areas from Saturday 14 March 2020 who develops symptoms should immediately self-isolate and be tested.

Travel in or out of these towns should now be limited and any non-essential travel within the region is discouraged. Anyone attending work should adhere to social distancing guidelines and working from home is encouraged."

Additionally, SA Health have set up a COVID-19 clinic in Tanunda - for details of operation refer to the SA Health website.

Council strongly support the message from the Chief Public Health Officer, Associate Professor Nicola Spurrier to 'stay home' this Easter and school holidays in help limit and control the spread of COVID-19.
