In light of the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic, day to day life has changed for all Australians, including Council staff.

While you're safe at home...

Our Care workers are shopping, cleaning and providing personal care for vulnerable residents. Social support drivers are delivering thousands of hot meals and Easter treats to those in need. Redeployed librarians are calling vulnerable locals to check on their wellbeing as part of our new social connections program. Storytellers are entertaining children online from our closed libraries. Specialist cleaners are cleaning Bayside’s public amenities more frequently. Rubbish and recycling truck drivers are collecting garbage within mechanical arm’s reach. Arborists are trimming trees so parks are safe to enjoy when they reopen. Contractors are repairing streets and footpaths to improve facilities while they're empty. Business support officers are promoting local business still operating and visiting traders to support them to operate in the new environment. Maternal child health nurses are calling new mothers to check on both mum and baby Nurses are providing life saving immunisations Council local laws officers are supporting the police patrolling our beaches and foreshore. The Communications team are working hard to keep the community up to date with important information. Customer service are responding to enquiries from the community.

The health of our community and staff is our top priority and like many other business and organisations, the majority of our workforce is now working from home to help mitigate the risk and spread of COVID-19 (coronavirus).

Our staff are continuing to provide essential services to the community in new and evolving ways, with many staff being redeployed from different parts of the organisation to support the areas with increased demands to their services.

This is Council's business as (un)usual in these unprecedented times.

Our essential workers need your help to ensure they can continue to safely serve our community.
