Cardinia Shire Council is encouraging community members to connect digitally and share their positive photos and stories.
Community members are invited to upload their images and videos to Council’s community engagement platform, Creating Cardinia, to share their stories and ideas about ways to keep connected, active or entertained while following physical distancing and gathering guidelines.
Submitted images and videos will be reviewed, approved and monitored by Council. Approved submissions will be viewable by the community within the Creating Cardinia platform.
The 'Connecting Cardinia’ project offers a positive and lighthearted connection point for the community at a time when they may be feeling disconnected from those around them. Some examples already seen in communities around the globe include:
Chalk rainbows / sidewalk art Teddy bears in windows Backyard camping setups Home SchoolingThe project also provides the community with links to important COVID-19-related information as well as childrens entertainment resources. Council understands many of residents may experience feelings of anxiety and concern during these unprecedented times. Community members are encouraged to stay in contact with family and friends using online applications, and contact the following organisations for mental health and wellbeing support, if required.
