This Easter long weekend community members are encouraged to stay active, stay positive and stay connected.
While we may not be able to travel and enjoy our usual Easter holidays, we can still use this time to relax, catch up with friends and family via video call and look after our well-being.
Launched today by the WA Government, Be positive, be connected, be active, is a good tool providing advice, support and ideas of what to do while staying home and / or in isolation.
Restrictions between regions within WA remains in effect and check points and mobile police patrols are in place to monitor travel across boundaries and ensure people are doing the right thing.
The advice is that everyone should be staying at home unless for:
Shopping for what you need – like food or necessary supplies; Medical or health care needs, including compassionate requirements; Exercise, in compliance with the public gathering requirements; and Work or study, if you can’t work or learn remotelyReports are suggesting that the measures in place for social distancing are working to reduce the spread of COVID-19 and flatten the curve. Refer to the Department of Health daily dashboard for updated stats.
Our Shire facilities are closed but queries can still be directed to 08 9188 4444. Waste collection services that are due to take place on Monday 13 April, will take place on Tuesday 14 April. Waste disposal sites will be closed on Sunday 12 April.
