Central Highlands Regional Galleries are calling for submissions for their first digital exhibition.
Art from the Central Highlands is open to local emerging and established artists and photographers.
Entries are due 24 April 2020 and the online exhibition will start on 7 May 2020.
Central Highlands Regional Council General Manager Communities John McDougall said with art galleries closed due to COVID-19, people should not miss out on enjoying and engaging with art.
‘Just because our galleries are closed, it doesn’t mean we can’t enjoy art – particularly by our many local talented artists,’ he said.
‘This will be the first digital exhibition for our galleries and could be the start of many.
‘Artists who reside in the Central Highlands will need to enter high quality images along with a statement on the inspiration for and the creative process behind their work.’
Central Highlands Art Galleries are also planning to liaise with high schools to put together a digital student art exhibition.
Artists can submit an entry online or via hard copy. Visit council’s website for more information, email [email protected] or phone 1300 242 686 to speak with the Central Highlands Regional Galleries team.
