The Isaac Local Disaster Management Group (LDMG) moved to ‘Stand Up’ on Tuesday 31st, in support of Queensland Health as the lead agency managing the response to the novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
The ‘Stand Up’ activation status was triggered due to the likelihood that the threat of the COVID-19 virus may affect our Local Government area.
The Isaac LDMG proactively plans to assist Queensland Health in managing any impact of COVID-19 to our communities. The Isaac LDMG is chaired by Isaac Regional Council Mayor Anne Baker with broad input from key agencies.
In line with the activation status procedures, the LDMG has activated the Local Disaster Coordination Centre (LDCC) to assist in operational activities such as the coordination of requests for assistance from the community, resource management and distribution of public information and communications.
The LDCC are a resource available to the public, businesses and industries in the Isaac Region, to assist in supporting our communities during the COVID-19 pandemic. The LDCC can be contacted on 1300 133 773.
The LDCC continues to actively monitor the situation and is in constant communication with Queensland Health as the lead agency. To date there have been no positive cases of COVID-19 reported in the Isaac Region.
To fight the spread of COVID-19 virus it is essential to keep up to date with the latest advice from Queensland Health and the Australian Government and strictly adhere to the advice from the authorities.
