The Administrator appointed for the Condobolin Local Aboriginal Land Council is seeking to appoint a volunteer Advisory Committee for the LALC’s Administration.

Timothy Gumbleton of RSM Australia Partners in Wagga Wagga advised in a newspaper classified that on 28 February 2020, he was appointed Administrator of the LALC pursuant to section 222(1) of the Aboriginal Land Rights Act 1983.

“Further to my previous notice published on 1 April 2020, I am seeking expressions of interest for appointment to a volunteer-based Advisory Committee for the Administration of LALC,” he said.

The role of the Advisory Committee is to generally assist and guide the Administrator throughout the administration process and may include, amongst other things, the following:

·       Considering membership applications and confirmation of Aboriginality;

·       Providing guidance in respect of land claims and associated matters;

·       Reviewing and updating the membership roll;

·       Assisting in developing an appropriate property management strategy including reviewing the LALC’s existing policy in conjunction with establishing a waiting list and a repairs and maintenance schedule;

·       Reviewing and finalising a new and improved Community, Land and Business Plan;

·       Assisting in reviewing and documenting a preferred new corporate structure and associated policies and procedures including the appointment of a new board of directors;

·       Recruitment initiatives as necessary; and

·       Other matters as they arise and are of importance in the Administration.
