It was pleasing to see so many members of our community observing social distancing over what was a very different Easter weekend, but disturbing to hear that the message has still not been heard by everyone.
Police and Council rangers worked cooperatively over the Easter holiday period to maintain a high degree of visibility and provided positive reinforcement to the community of the importance of social distancing rules.
These measures combined with Council’s new temporary public and park signage highlighting public health messages meant there was no need for our beaches to be closed.
For us to continue to enjoy our beautiful environment we must all remain vigilant. Now is not the time to take our foot off the pedal and our individual commitment to create a safe and healthy environment for all to enjoy must continue to be our collective priority.
Council will continue to work closely with police to ensure Mosman remains as safe as possible, as well as with other key NSW Government agencies to support our community and small businesses to weather the other significant adverse impacts of COVID-19.
