Here is a list of ways you can safely commemorate this Anzac Day

How we can Commemorate ANZAC Day 2020

This year ANZAC Day will certainly look different to previous years, but it can feel the same, and here are some ways you can help commemorate our national day of remembrance.  RSL NSW has shared five ways you can acknowledge ANZAC Day this year:

Respond “Going” to the RSL NSW ANZAC Day 2020 Facebook event. Record yourself reciting The Ode or write a message of support for our veterans, then use the hashtag #ANZACSpirit and share how you’ll be commemorating, and who you’ll be remembering this ANZAC Day. Light up the dawn. At 6am on ANZAC Day, go to the end of your driveway or stand on your balcony and remember those who have sacrificed so much for our Country. You can stream and listen to a short service and sign the pledge to ‘light up the dawn’ at RSL ANZAC Spirit. Tune in to live services and virtual commemorative services. The ABC will be broadcasting a 5:30am dawn service from the Australian War Memorial in Canberra. There will also be a 10am service from the ANZAC Memorial in Sydney that will be broadcast on ABC and streamed live. Reach out to a mate who might be alone. Many people are alone during this time of isolation. It’s the perfect time to invoke the ANZAC value of mateship and check to see how a mate is doing. Donate to the ANZAC Appeal online. Donations support Australian veterans in need, and their families. Donations in New South Wales support services provided by RSL DefenceCare and Veteran Sport Australia.
