Mayor's Poster Challenge Tuesday 21 April

Mayor’s Poster Challenge is on again

Young people keen to demonstrate their creativity and knowledge of recycling are invited to take part in this year’s Mayor’s Poster Challenge.

East Gippsland Shire Council Mayor, Cr John White said the challenge asks young people across East Gippsland to design a poster promoting the theme ‘Make our lakes and streams single use plastic free’.

“With many children now at home, this is a great educational activity to help keep them busy in a creative way,” Cr White said.

“We’re looking for posters that show the message in a bright, eye-catching and unique way. The message does not have to be written in words; it can be shown using pictures and colours.”

The poster format lets people use images and colour to convey a message.

The challenge is divided into four age groups: 5-7 years, 8-10 years, 11-13 years and 14-18 years.

Winners and runners-up from each age group will receive some amazing eco-friendly prizes such as, sciences kits and the adoption of a Burrunan dolphin or seal.

Entries can be submitted by emailing [email protected] or mailed to PO Box 1618 Bairnsdale 3875.

Entries must be received by 5pm, April 30, 2020.
