Gwydir Shire Water Restrictions 2019/2020 – As at 22 April 2020

UPDATE: PUBLIC NOTICE 22 April 2020 Level 1 Water Restrictions – Bingara, Gravesend, North Star and Warialda Water Supplies

Despite substantial rainfall over the last few months, the Gwydir Shire Council have made a commitment to the continuous conservation of water. Water restrictions will now remain in place until further notice, with the use of sprinklers prohibited between 10am and 5pm. Hand held Hoses are permitted for watering pot plants at all times.

Reason: Despite resent rainfalls, the drought is far from over with 99.4 per cent of NSW is still in drought and about one-third in the highest category – “intense drought”. Furthermore, a continuous commitment to the conservation of water is good practice to ensure future water supplies for our region.
