We’ve created a list of FAQs to make it easy for you to stay up-to-date.
About online council meetingsFollowing advice from the Federal and State Government, we will be holding council meetings via Zoom.
You’ll be able to stream meetings and submit questions online as in a normal Council meeting.
How can I attend the meeting?You can download the Zoom app from the download centre. Otherwise, you will be prompted to download and install Zoom when you click a join link.
We’ll publish the meeting link on the meeting day, including the meeting password and ID on our Agenda & Minutes page and Facebook.
All you need to do is follow the prompts and enter the meeting password and ID.
We suggest jumping online 5-10 minutes prior to the meeting start time to test your connection.
Do I need to pre-register?There’s no need to pre-register.
Can I talk to councillors/staff?You won’t be able to speak to councillors or staff members during the meeting. You’ll be able to watch and listen.
If you have questions after the meeting you can:
What should I do if I want to ask a question?You’ll need to submit your question online, or by email by 12noon the Tuesday before to the Council meeting.
This will allow us to fact check, record and prepare an answer.
I’ve submitted a question, now what?We’ll read out all valid questions at the Council meeting and provide a verbal response. This will be recorded in the minutes.
How many people can attend a meeting?We can accommodate up to 500 participants. You can join and leave the meeting as you like, so you don’t need to stay connected until the end.
