Hard waste collection to commence in late April

The next Frankston City Council hard waste collection will take place for eight weeks from the end of April.

Residents can visit MyAddress to view the specific date hard waste will be collected in their street: frankston.vic.gov.au/MyAddress 

Council will also send residents a brochure reminding them of their collection two weeks before it takes place. This brochure will include information about items accepted by the hard waste service.

Hard waste can be placed on nature strips no earlier than the Saturday prior to pick up week and no later than 6am on the Monday of pick up week.

Those who place waste out for collection before these dates risk being fined for illegal dumping. Any excess waste or items not accepted will have to be removed by the resident.

To maximise diversion from landfill, residents may find their waste is collected by more than one truck.

Frankston City Council Mayor, Sandra Mayer, asked the community to be considerate when placing their waste out for collection.

“In this pandemic, Council is continuing to deliver essential services such as waste collection and our crews will be practising safe social distancing,” Cr Mayer said.

“You can help us do the job as efficiently as possible by neatly placing no more than two cubic metres of waste out for pick up, well out of the way of your bins.”

The Mayor added that to minimise the potential risk of COVID-19 contamination residents should only handle their own hard waste.

“Scavenging is highly discouraged as it increases the risk of spreading COVID-19 and is not one of the four essential reasons to leave your home.”
